The Challenge
High-volume meat processing runs on tight margins where a single data-entry error creates real compliance risk. The plant was relying on manual weight logs on the production floor, disconnected spreadsheets between departments, and paper veterinary inspection records — making it slow and difficult to trace a yield or quality issue back to its source.
The Solution
MeatCore ERP was built on Symfony and PostgreSQL to replace manual entry entirely. It interfaces directly with the plant's industrial PLC scales and weigh stations, capturing weight data in real time instead of on paper. Every animal is tracked lot-by-lot from reception through inspection, slaughter, deboning, refrigeration, and dispatch, with automatic carcass-yield calculation and anomaly flags built into the workflow, plus continuous cold-storage temperature monitoring with automated quarantine alerts.
The Results
The plant now generates QR-coded, USDA-aligned traceability certificates directly from the system instead of assembling them by hand, and yield or temperature anomalies surface automatically instead of being discovered days later during a manual audit.
